Counseling - free &
Would you like to speak with someone who is
non-judgmental, and can talk with you about all
your options? There are several good (and free) choices. They are:
KRCRC, the Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, (866) 606-0988, can provide faith-based all-options counseling, for those of any faith. Call our message line and leave your first name and a number where we can reach you. Someone
will call you back within 24 hours and arrange for over-the-phone counseling with a non-judgmental clergy person.
Faith Aloud, (888) 717-5010, is another
non-judgmental source of faith-based counseling.
Backline, (888) 493-0092, will provide
non-religious non-judgmental all-options
Funding and other Practical Support
Once you've decided that an abortion is right for you, there can still be many impediments to getting one.
While KRCRC does not do abortion funding or direct access support, we can point you in the right direction.
There are THREE useful organizations to know about, that can give financial and/or practical help
for those seeking an abortion. They are:
NAF - The National Abortion Federation - (800) 772-9100
NAF provides unbiased information about abortion, as well as other resources, including financial assistance. Their hotline hours are:
Weekdays: 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Eastern time
Saturdays and Sundays: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time
It is important to know that their hotline number is busy more often than not. Keep trying! They are the
single best source for funding assistance. Learn more
at their website.
KHJN - Kentucky Health Justice Network - (855) 576-4576
KHJN volunteers staff a hotline to help people seeking abortions with financial assistance, transportation, interpretation, and more. Learn more at their website.
A Fund, Inc.
A Fund is an abortion fund which helps Kentuckians seeking an abortion (either in KY or out of state) as well as any patient who seeks an abortion at EMW in Louisville, even if they are from another state.
A Fund does not have a hotline. Rather, they work by providing funds for abortion help directly to clinics (both in Kentucky and in surrounding states). Clinic staff can then use A Fund money towards the costs of patients' abortions. So, know that this additional source of funding can be available to you at the clinic.
